Why MAPC?
The Mid-Atlantic Placement Conference began in 1996 and serves as a regional placement conference, designed similarly to the NASPA and ACPA national job placement conferences.
- Meet potential employers without the traveling far.
- Low prices for those on a small budget.
- A more intimate setting to meet employers then the large convention halls.
- MAPC is held before other conferences allowing you to meet employers first.
- MAPC has been making successful matches since 1996!
How do I register?
Online registration
- Candidates should complete the registration form via this web site.
- Payment may be made by check or money order, payable to “MACUHO” or online via credit card. Checks and money orders should be mailed to Danielle Phillips, Candidate Registration Chair.
- After completing registration, submit a copy of your resume in WORD or PDF.
On-site registration
- On-site registrants may pay via check, money order, or cash
- You will need to submit 6 copies of your resume on white paper to be made available for review by employers.
How will I know about the schools and positions at the conference?
As the conference date draws near you will be sent a list via e-mail of positions being interviewed for at the Mid-Atlantic Placement Conference. These listings will include the position title, institution, position description, and often the benefits and contact person. These will continue to be updated as additional positions are registered and you will receive a complete list when you arrive at the conference. Any on-site position registrations will be posted for candidates to view.
A resource area will be available to peruse information about participating institutions. Resources include Peterson’s Guide, institutions profiles, texts, and MACUHO information.
*Note: Information may not be available for every institution and your time will be limited, so you are encouraged to also research schools on your own before the Conference.
*Wireless internet is NOT available however there will be a computer available with internet access to all candidates to research information on schools.
What you should bring?
- Copies of you resume
- Thank you notes
- Pens
- Stapler
- Business cards
- Note book or portfolio to take notes and write down questions
- Any other supplies that may be needed
We will provide Message to Employer slips. You may create your own slips if you wish but please model it on the on the one below.
