GENERAL
The University of Delaware is located in Newark, Delaware, just off Interstate 95, approximately 12 miles west of Wilmington, Delaware; 40 miles southwest of Philadelphia; 120 miles southwest of New York City; 60 miles northeast of Baltimore, Maryland; and 100 miles northeast of Washington, D.C.
AUTOMOBILE
From points North and South
Take I-95 to Exit 1B (Newark - University of Delaware), which is Route 896 North. Follow Route 896 north into Newark, where it becomes S. College Avenue. Follow S. College to the dead end. Turn left onto Main Street and stay in the right lane. Go about one block and at the fork in the road, bear right over the railroad tracks, following signs for Route 896 North. Proceed straight through the traffic light at Cleveland Avenue. Look for an electronic sign and a sign for the University of Delaware - Laird Campus on the right. Turn right after the electronic sign. Clayton Hall is on the right; parking is on the left.
From Southern Delaware
Take Route 13 North to the Route 1 Bypass. Follow Route 1 North and exit at Route 896. Follow for a few miles, go over the railroad tracks and make a right at the traffic light, following signs for Route 896 North. Follow for several miles, crossing the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal, then Route 40 and I-95.
Follow Route 896 north into Newark, where it becomes S. College Avenue. Follow S. College to the dead end. Turn left onto Main Street and stay in the right lane. AIR
Philadelphia International Airport is approximately 40 miles from Newark and is the most convenient air terminal, with many flights to and from all major cities.
GROUND TRANSPORTATION TO NEWARK
Limo service is available to the University campus at a cost of approximately $25.00.

BUSES
Greyhound/Trailways buses from Baltimore, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and New York City travel directly to the University. To obtain a bus schedule, phone Greyhound/Trailways at (302) 738-4409.
TRAINS
The train station is located at Front and French Streets in Wilmington, Delaware. There is good service to New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington. Wilmington is a stop for nearly all Amtrak metroliners. Delaware Area Regional Transportation (DART) buses transport passengers between Wilmington and Newark. To contact DART for a schedule, phone (302) 655-3381. Taxi service is also available at a cost of approximately $30. Limited Amtrak service is available to Newark.
