Information for Employers

Why MAPC?
The Mid-Atlantic Placement Conference began in 1996 and serves as a regional placement conference, designed similarly to the NASPA and ACPA national job placement conferences.

  • Meet qualified candidates without the traveling far.
  • Low prices for those on a small budget.
  • A more intimate setting to meet candidates then the large convention halls.
  • MAPC is held before other conferences allowing you to meet candidates first.
  • MAPC has been making successful matches since 1996!

How do I register?
Online registration

  • Employers should complete the registration form via this web site.
  • Payment may be made by check or money order, payable to “MACUHO” or online via credit card. Checks and money orders should be mailed to Becky Sierp, Employer Registration Chair.
  • After completing registration, submit a copy of your full-page job description(s) in WORD or PDF

On-site registration

  • On-site registrants may pay via check, money order, or cash
  • You will need to submit 6 copies of your full-page job description(s) on white paper to be made available for review by candidates.

How will I know who the candidates are?
As the conference date draws near you will be sent a list via e-mail list of candidates registering for the Mid-Atlantic Placement Conference.  These listings will include the candidate’s name, current institution, current position, what type of position they are looking for (graduate or full-time), and their education information (degree, major, date earned).  These will continue to be updated as additional candidates are registered and you will receive a complete list when you arrive at the conference.  Information about candidates who register on-site will be compiled and distributed during the conference for employer review.  There will also be an employer lounge where you will be able to view all of the candidates resumes.

How do I set up interviews with candidates?
You may pre-schedule interviews with candidates, but no pre-screening please.  We ask that pre-scheduled interviews are scheduled for the first day only since many candidates register on-site.  It is important that those candidates have interviewing opportunities.

What you should bring?

  • Full position descriptions, school catalog, school newspaper, policy handbook, or any other program information  to place in the candidate resource area
  • Giveaway item for the raffle
  • Items for you interview table such as give-a-ways and pennants
  • Pens
  • Stapler
  • Business cards

We will provide  Message to Candidate slips.   You may create your own slips if you wish but please model it on the on the one below.

If you have any questions during the conference members of the
conference team will be available to assist you.
